Cookie Policy
Last updated 20 October 2026
1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include browser storage and identifiers carried in links. This policy covers all of them on Receipt's own domains.
2. What cookies we use, and why
Strictly necessary (always on):
- Sign-in cookies set by Clerk, our sign-in provider (names starting
__session,__clientand__clerk), when you sign in or use the dashboard. A creator's public page and tracked links set no sign-in cookies. rcpt_consent: remembers your cookie choice.rcpt_clerk_reset_v1: a one-off marker used to repair a stale sign-in, kept for 30 days.rcpt_connect_state: a short-lived security check while you connect Stripe.rcpt_shopify_install(10 minutes) and Shopify'sshopify_app_stateand its signature cookie (1 minute): short-lived security checks while you connect a Shopify shop, so the connection completes only for the account and shop that started it.
Preferences (remember choices you made):
rcpt_ui_mode,fanogram_ui_langandfanogram_ui_currency: light or dark mode, language and display currency, kept for up to 12 months. The language one is also set when a visitor picks a language on a creator's page.rcpt_setup_card_hidden: hides the setup card on your dashboard, kept for up to 12 months.rcpt_receipts_view,rcpt_nav_pinnedandrcpt_fenn_rail: the view you last chose on your receipts, whether the side menu is pinned open, and whether the Fenn panel is open, kept for up to 12 months.
Analytics (only if you accept):
- Google Analytics cookies (names starting
_ga), to understand how Receipt is used. Not set until you accept, and never on a creator's custom domain.
3. What we do not use
Receipt sets no visitor or attribution cookie. When you tap a tracked link, the id of that click travels in the link's address, not in a cookie. Duplicate and abuse checks use a daily code computed on our server that is never stored on your device (see our Privacy Policy, Section 3).
If your browser still holds an old rcpt_vid cookie from before 25 September 2026, Receipt deletes it the next time you tap a tracked link.
If you confirm you are 18 or over to open a locked link, that is remembered in your browser's session storage for that page until you close the tab.
4. Your choice is asked, and remembered
Where we use analytics cookies, we ask first. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link in our footers.
Your choice is stored in this browser. If you are signed in, it is also stored against your account (not just this device) and honoured across Folo, Fanogram and Receipt, so you are not asked again on each product separately; see our Privacy Policy, Section 8. A creator's public page and custom domain read only the choice stored in your browser.
5. How to control or delete cookies
You can delete cookies or block them in your browser's settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop sign-in from working; it will not stop a creator's page or links from working.
